*Recent Updates (Schedule of Fees and Holiday Schedule) - Issued December 29, 2024
NEW SCHEDULING AND PAYMENT POLICY
Scheduling now for JANUARY 6 – FEBRUARY 2, 2025
The policy changes/reminders below will be in effect starting the next scheduling period, January 6, 2025. Please plan accordingly. If you have scheduling or invoice questions, please reach out to me personally via text. The new lesson and payment policy will include the following changes:
Lessons will be scheduled a month in advance (any number of lessons) in order to prepare appropriate age and skill level groups.
Prepayment for the month is mandatory and MUST be paid IN FULL prior to your first lesson. Discounts will still be given for scheduling 4, 6, or 8 lessons in advance.
If a lesson is missed for ANY reason (illness, emergency, weather, prior plans etc.), you will have until the end of the month to make-up your lesson. If you do not make-up your missed lesson by the end of the month, it does NOT carry over to the next month. Like all other sports, this will not be an exception. Rescheduled lessons must be scheduled a week prior to guaranteed availability. Last minute additions will be accommodated IF available.
More than one weather cancelation will be the exception to the make-up policy. If there is more than one cancelation due to the weather, the second or more prepaid lessons may roll over to the next month.
The 24-hour cancellation policy still applies, and riders will be charged a lesson fee without a make-up.
Special scheduling needs can be addressed directly to me. It is easier to schedule lessons on the same day and time each week to form groups, but that is not mandatory! Scheduling for the month ahead of time gives me plenty of time to prepare.
Lesson times will NOT be confirmed each week. Lesson confirmation will be confirmed by Ashley via text at the beginning of the month.
Please check the schedule out for the skill levels offered during the week. If you are uncertain about the skill level of your rider, please ask. This schedule will remain in effect all of January!
* FEES BELOW are effective December 15, 2023 ! *
Introductory Lesson $50
Each new rider will begin their experience with an introductory ride. Adults and school-age children will participate in an hour-long session to include an overview of grooming, tacking (preparing equipment) and/or untacking, leading the horse, and riding. During the initial ride, riders will learn the basics of halting, walking, and turning the horse.
Special needs riders and younger riders and that have not yet started school will participate in a half-hour session to assess their individual riding needs.
Introductory lessons also enable riders to learn about the lesson horses, facility, and instructors. It is of utmost importance to Hickory Haven that families make informed decisions about where they choose to become a team. Just a warning... your little one will become horse crazy!
*Riders that have completed their introductory ride may be required to have an additional private lesson (or more) if more time is needed to review the basic riding skills before starting group lessons. Your instructor will assess your rider's needs and give recommendations at the end of your lesson.
Group Lessons $45
Group lessons are a unique experience for riders to gain horse knowledge and skills while having socialization with fellow horse enthusiasts. Rider groups are formed based on day and time needs of families, as well as criteria designed and assessed by the instructor. This includes the rider's skill level and age, horse work needs, and discipline of riding.
Riders should arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to their lesson to prepare their own gear. Riders that have been deemed competent to groom and tack lesson horses independently should arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start of their lesson.
Discounted Group Lesson Packages *PREPAID*
Prepay 4 lessons - $10 discount (completed within 5 weeks of first lesson)
Prepay 6 lessons - $25 discount (completed within 7 weeks of first lesson)

private Lessons $55 one-hour / $45 half hour
Private lessons are a great opportunity for riders to address their unique needs outside of a group setting. These lessons are also designed for younger children that have not yet started school. Private lessons are offered in one-hour and half-hour sessions.
Riders should arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to their lesson to prepare their own gear. Riders that have been deemed competent to groom and tack lesson horses independently should arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start of their lesson.
